Traveling Trunks:
The World Museum of
Mining offers a Geology trunk to local teachers
in order to provide students with a close up
look at different rock formations and minerals.
We encourage teachers to discuss the different
characteristics Geologists use when classifying
rocks and minerals. Several additional projects
have been suggested to help supplement the
experience. This trunk is by no means meant for
the teacher to attempt every project. The
activities are provided to help enhance geology
units and to provide the materials for students
to get a hands on approach to rocks and
minerals.
This trunk can be adapted
to all grade levels.
Please call the museum,
723-7211, to make arrangements to use the
Geology Trunk. At this time, there is no charge
for the trunk usage. A shipping fee will be
charged if you require the trunk to be shipped.
