Underground Mining
Exhibit

Perhaps
the best place to begin a tour of the World
Museum of Mining is found on the lower level of
the Orphan Girl Hoist/Engine House in the
Underground Mining Exhibit.

The
exhibit, which opened in the summer of 2002,
uses real mining equipment displayed in a
simulated underground mine to explain each of
the steps in the mining process.
Don't miss
the "honey pot"!
A gallery
displaying a small sample of the images in the
museum's
Photo
Archives is also located here.

This
exhibit was partially underwritten by a grant
from
Travel
Montana's Tourism Infrastructure Investment
Program (TIIP), which is funded from the tourism
accommodations tax. Tourism tax dollars at work
for tourists! The exhibit was constructed by
Museum staff and volunteers.
